The most profitable beauty and wellness treatments revealed

From builder gel to facials, knowing the most profitable and in-demand treatments right now is key to optimising profit and attracting new clients.

Statistics from our monthly Insider benchmarking surveys provide insight into the most profitable beauty and wellness treatments you can offer to help grow your salon or spa business.

The most profitable spa treatments
In the spa and wellness realm, insights from our Insider survey revealed the significance of traditional spa treatment mainstays, with the top three reported as:

Back, neck and shoulder massage
Facials
Body massage
According to a new report from Fresha and WGSN, a top wellness trend for 2024 will be the introduction of in-chair add-ons, such as massages and facials.

Consumers are making more time for self-care, leading to cultural concepts such as the "maintenance day" – a day carved out and devoted to maintaining their beauty and wellness rituals.

This trend has led to the rise of the hybrid salon, where hair, beauty or wellness treatments are all located under one roof.

The report predicted that salons which evolve or adapt how consumers can access self-care experts, treatments and experiences will win in the future.

The most profitable beauty treatments
For beauty professionals, some of the high-tech treatments such as radiofrequency and laser hair removal are proving profitable in many salons, with mainstays such as waxing and facials also receiving a lot of mentions in our Insider survey. The top 14 mentioned were:

Radiofrequency
Laser hair removal
Waxing
Hands-on facial
Microneedling
Dermaplaning
Spray tan
HIFU
IPL hair removal
Massage
Lash lift and tint
Brow services
Builder gel
Electrolysis
In addition to standalone tech-based treatments, combination treatments are rising in popularity.

One such service is radiofrequency microneedling. Together, the two treatments work to deliver their individual results, while simultaneously targeting both the surface of the skin and dermis for enhanced results.

Builder gel was the only nail service to be mentioned multiple times by the beauty salon owners surveyed. This type of gel polish has a thicker consistency to help strengthen the natural nails.

Better your salon business in 2024, draw in new clients and enhance the experience of your regulars with these profitable beauty and wellness treatments.
